A Fillip for West Midlands Businesses

At a conference to be held on Tuesday 11th November at West Bromwich Albion Football Club, Coller IP Management, a specialist in intellectual property management, evaluation and investment services, and Fillip, a forum funded by Advantage West Midlands to provide help with IP issues to West Midlands companies, will host a discussion on IP issues affecting West Midlands organisations.  The conference will include presentations by local companies on how being a recipient of funding through the recent Fillip Awards - where selected West Midlands organisations were given grants to support them in integrating IP into their businesses - has been of tremendous benefit.  They will present a series of case studies showing how a strategic approach to IP can help businesses of all sizes build a brand, protect products and processes from being copied by competitors, enter new markets, safeguard investments and attract outside investors.

Keynote speakers at the conference will be David Lammy, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Skills and Jeremy Beale, Head of Knowledge Economy Programme, CBI.  Those attending will be able to book a free half hour session with IP experts to answer specific queries.

The conference is being organised by Coventry University Enterprises on behalf of Fillip, The West Midlands Intellectual Property Forum.   Participation costs £110.00 plus VAT per delegate but West Midland-based SME organisations may pay £55.00 plus VAT for one delegate.  It will run between 9 am and 5 pm.
